This year, GSEF will be presenting the Distinguished Alumni award to Jeff Mansfield and Michelle Henry and the Distinguished Service award to Karl Eisaman.

Jeff is a retired Greensburg Salem teacher and principal from the class of 1970. Michelle is the current Attorney General of Pennsylvania from the class of 1987. Both alumni have used their professional career to make a difference in their communities and are true role models for our youth. Karl has been a community leader and contributor to the Greensburg Salem school district for an extended period of time, donating his time, talents, and service to the district and serving as another strong role model for our youth.

GSEF is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Ashley Gongaware Kertes Fund to preserve Ashley’s legacy of kindness and compassion by raising funds for the District’s most vulnerable students. This Fund will remove financial barriers for K-12 students who wish to participate in after-school and/or extracurricular activities. Learn more and support directly here!

On April 21st, 2023, GSEF held our annual Distinguished Award Banquet, honoring two star alumni and our inaugural Distinguished Service Honoree.

Our honorees are featured in the photo below: distinguished alumni Bill Lendl ‘80 and John Sphon ‘75, as well as Debbie Snider, wife of our first Distinguished Service honoree, Steve Snider.

We also had a surprise fundraising announcement: Bill Lendl and his family will be graciously matching donations to our Endowment Fund up to $50,000! If you’d like to support us in that effort, please visit bit.ly/GSEFDONORDRIVE.

Innovative, engaging, fun… All words that describe an excellent education. Greensburg Salem Education Foundation (GSEF) was formed in 2012 to help teachers support these concepts in their classrooms.

GSEF supports student learning through teacher grants.

Overseen by a board of directors that is comprised of dedicated community members, alumni, students, and GSSD employees, GSEF raises funds to help support classroom and school initiatives that impact students and teachers in a positive way, because we know… together, we can make a difference!
